This is our third production on this awesome train watching location! Located in Central Pennsylvania , about 5 miles West of Altoona. It is located at Milepost 242 on Norfolk Southern's Pittsburgh Line. It boast an average of 60 trains a day with a lot of Foreign power! This tough section of Railroad crosses the Allegheny Mountains at a grade of 1.85% and a 9° curve! Considered one of the toughest sections of Railroading in the USA! Most of the trains that traveres the Horseshoe Curve require Helper units applied to either the front or the rear of the trains because of the steep grades the trains encounter.
Filmed in Summer of 2017, we see an array of power from Norfolk Southern including a visit by a Heritage unit and also some Foreign power. As an added bonus, we added footage from Fostoria, PA filmed in 2017.
