The Vermont Rail System operates over 350 Miles of track around Vermont and Upstate New York. In this series, we will cover all the trackage in Vermont!
We start off in Volume One with Passenger operations over the Green Mountain Division (Formerly the Green Mountain Railroad) from Bellows Falls to Ludlow and beyond.
We cover many scenic locations along the EX Rutland line! We follow EX Rutland / GMRC # 405 , A 1951 ALCO RS-1 locomotive. #405 is still in operation as of 2015, but day's may be numbered for the venerable ALCO, and hauls Tourist trains on a regular basis through the scenic Vermont country side! We capture #405 on home rails as it works excursion trains out of Chester to Ludlow and Bellows Falls.
We also capture the 2014 Employee Special from Rutland to Chester #307 and a streamlined consist, with the McIntyre bringing up the markers!
