The Mighty AEM-7 was a twin cab 4 axle B-B 700 HP electric locomotive build by EMD & ASEA between 1978 and 1988. Amtrak had the biggest order of AEM-7's, with a total of 54. They were used on Amtrak's two electrified lines, The Northeast Corridor from Boston to Washington DC and on the Keystone Corridor from Philadelphia to Harrisburg Pennsylvania. They were the strong hold on these Corridors for years replacing the ill fated GE E60's. MARC (7) and SEPTA (4) also operated the AEM-7's on commuter routes.
In 2016, Amtrak started to retire the fleet of AEM-7's in favor of the Siemens ACS-64's. By 2018 both MARC & SEPTA had retired all of their AEM-7's as well. Jason Gregory of J&O Productions captured the Mighty AEM-7's over the course of several years to comply this fantastic production! He captured action from many other passenger locomotives that roamed the Northeast Corridor from Connecticut to Maryland. Also action was captured on the Keystone corridor in Pennsylvania along with MARC/SEPTA/Amtrak/CONNDOT/MTA!
