600-005 SHORTLINE'S, TOURIST RAILROAD'S & MUSEUM'S VOLUME FIVE
In volume five we take a look at some great
Tourist railroad's and some neat shortline's located in the
PROVIDENCE & WORCESTER
We take a look at the 2011 excursions on the Providence & Worcester Railroad, from Woonsocket, Rhode Island to Northbridge, Massachusetts. We capture The annual Barnum & Bailey circus train in May, and EX BNSF B40's hauling Christmas trains for the Holiday Season! We capture the excursion train at many scenic locations along the Blackstone River corridor.
WANAMAKER, KEMPTON & SOUTHERN
We take a look at this tourist hauler in Eastern Pennsylvania and it's scenic line quoted as the "Hawk Mountain Line". We follow General Electric 45 ton side rod switcher #7258 and her short train from Kempton to Wanamakers. This small isolated line has some of the most scenic areas in Eastern Pennsylvania!
Located in Northwest Pennsylvania in the town of Honesdale is the Stourbridge Line, a tourist line that operates a rare EMD BL-2 locomotive (Ex Bangor & Aroostook) on it's excursion trains. We capture action on this scenic line along the Lackawaxen river from Honesdale to Hawley. We see this classic first generation diesel in action on this very scenic line!
As of 2012, The Stourbridge Line has suspended tourist operations. We hope that this line will be back soon and we can see the colorful BL-2 in action again!!
As an added bonus, we have added footage from Winter 2007 of Seaview Trans. Located entirely within the
Quonset Point Industrial park in Davisville, Rhode Island. We capture action from SW9 #5 switching out customers on this neat industrial railroad.
