600-004 SHORTLINE'S, TOURIST RAILROAD'S & MUSEUM'S VOLUME FOUR "NARROW GAUGE SPECIAL" EDAVILLE RAILROAD & EAST BROAD TOP RAILROAD
In Volume #4, we take a look at two narrow gauge railroad's icons- The East Broad Top Railroad, located in Rock hill Furnace/Orbisonia, Pennsylvania and Edaville Railroad located in South Carver, Massachusetts
East Broad Top's 2011 Fall Spectacular
We start off with a look at the EBT and their 2011 Fall Spectacular. We see passenger trains, freight trains and special mixed trains, both steam and diesel powered, along with the annual M-1 excursion work the 5 mile line from the station in Orbisonia to the Colgate Picnic Grove at the end of the line. We also see action from the 2011 season with #15 powering the Summer excursions. A great look at a classic three foot gauge railroad!
As news fell on April 1st 2012, this may have been the last operating season for the East Broad Top... We hope something happens and they can resume operations soon. This is a big part of narrow gauge Railroad history...
Edaville Railroad's Steam Returns!
Next we go back to the Winter of 2010 when steam returned to Edaville railroad for the first time in several years! We capture a Henschel 0-4-0 steam locomotive on loan from Boothbay Railway Village work the 2 mile loop. We also capture action from one of Edaville's original locomotives #2 diesel locomotive! All this with the famous Holiday light display!
