500-022 CONWAY SCENIC RAILROAD "STEAM TO FABYAN"
During the summer of 2007, Conway Scenic Railroad & Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts hosted A special trip from the North Conway station to Fabyan station at the base of Mount Washington.
This trip was a special occasion as steam is rarely used on the Crawford Notch line and it was the first time steam locomotive 7470 (Ex Grand Trunk/Canadian National 0-6-0) has lead both ways! We were there to capture this historic event! We follow the four car train from the station in downtown North Conway up the Crawford Notch line through Intervale, Bartlett, Notchlands through the White Mountain National Forest to Crawford Notch and on to Fabyan station and return to North Conway!
We see action from #7470 along with the short lived U23B #2820 helping down the tough grade!
