500-002 THE STEWARTSTOWN RAILROAD CAB RIDE "THE FINAL SEASON" 2003
The Stewartstown railroad is located in south central Pennsylvania, Just south of the state capitol of Harrisburg in York county. The line starts in New Freedom and runs to the town of Stewartstown, through the Deer Creek Valley. We capture the line from the cab of #10 locomotive, A General Electric 44 Ton diesel. We leave from the station in Stewartstown and travel West through the Deer Creek Valley to Tolna, passing many fields and forests along this scenic right of way!
The Stewartstown railroad ceased operations in early 2004 due to a derailment and has not operated since. We filmed this video in October of 2003, making this one of the last trips on the line!
Shot in Digital format/amateur footage.
Total running time 40 min
